Alex Speirs is a 26 year old student currently finishing his Arts degree in International Relations and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington. Born and raised in Sydney to New Zealand parents, he decided after finishing high school in 2003 to travel the world, working the whole time in various industries from hospitality to call centres, before deciding to return to the country of his heritage in 2008 to commence his studies.
Alex is number 25 on the ACT party list and is a passionate advocate of freedom, both social and economic, and individual choice. He is especially passionate about improving the lot of young New Zealanders and ensuring that in future, New Zealand families do not have to make the same decision as his parents did to leave.
Alex’s passion for politics is only usurped by his love of sport, especially Rugby League, the Warriors and the Kiwis.
