David Seymour

David Seymour is currently on sabbatical from his role as a senior policy analyst at the Canadian think tank the Frontier Centre for Public Policy. In his position David works to develop and popularise new public policy ideas through newspaper op-eds published in major Canadian dailies, live media interviews, and speaking engagements. This year he published his first book on public policy: 'Birth of a Boom: Saskatchewan's Dawning Golden Age'.

Prior to his current role, he worked as an electrical engineer at Ericsson Communications and Whangarei firm McKay.

David has a BE in electrical engineering and his BA in philosophy from the University of Auckland.

From 2004-2005, David was the ACT on Campus Auckland President and in 2005 the Mt Albert candidate. In 2006 he was an Auckland South representative on the ACT Board of Trustees and he is currently standing in the Auckland Central electorate in the 2011 general election.

David was the 2008 winner of the international Mont Pelerin Society’s Hayek Essay Contest. He coached rugby at Auckland Grammar for five years and volunteered as a telephone counsellor at Kidsline.
